The Greatest Detective

The greatest detective L, I mean Sherlock Ho-, no Sherlock L, is looking for his nemesis Ki- I mean Professor Moriarty.

It was my first time drawing Light (even if he's drawn in chibi style) and Watari. v__v

What caused me to mess up Sherlock Holmes and Death Note is... something I don't even remember anymore. I guess it was because I was thinking about who could be considered the greatest detective in the fictional world. Sherlock Holmes and L were the first to cross my mind, so mixing them up would bring forth the greatest detective of all time, right? But of course they're different. L wouldn't smoke, so I stuffed the candy cane into his mouth. I also messed up the neat look of Sherlock Holmes because L's dressing code is simple and comfortable rather than neat and elegant.
Then I thought about the other roles in Sherlock Holmes (I never read Sherlock Holmes actually and thus I'm not too sure about their looks-- I googled them, though XD). First I thought about Light being Watson, but quickly decided against it. Light works better as the counterpart to L, so I chose Professor Moriarty for Light. Watari works better for Watson, anyway, I think.

The image took me about three days to finish. I would've finished it faster if I hadn't had to fight with my tablet all the time. It's old and there are wrinkles in it (the foil, I mean). As a result whenever I drew over those wrinkled ares, the strokes would come out really weird and had to be redone many times. So annoying <__<
